Just before a bunch of beefy men put on pads & helmets to tear each other apart in Super Bowl, the pre-show had good men put on masks in a new extended TV spot for The Lone Ranger. Disney decided to go all out for the big game by putting together a 90-second spot that mixes old footage from the first trailers with some great new stuff as well. Armie Hammer plays the titular hero, but Johnny Depp is getting a big push since he shares the lead as the Native American sidekick Tonto. We've got a long way until the film hits this summer just in time for Independence Day weekend, but this is a solid tease for audiences. Watch!

Here's the new 90-second Super Bowl TV spot for Disney's The Lone Ranger, posted via YouTube:

"There come a time, Kimosabe... When good men must wear mask..." Never take off the mask.

The Lone Ranger is directed by Pirates of the Caribbean franchise helmer Gore Verbinski and written by Ted Elliot, Terry Rossio and Justin Haythe. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption. Lone Ranger arrives July 3rd, 2013.
